EVERGREEN HEDGING
Producing foliage that remains in place year-round, evergreen hedging offers the ultimate form of screening. Lower-growing evergreen hedges can be used to define parterres or smaller borders while taller-growing kinds can be used to hide unsightly views or provide privacy through the seasons. In winter, evergreen hedging adds valuable structure to gardens while, in summer, it can be used as a verdant backdrop to plantings.
Evergreen hedging can also help block noise pollution and trap airborne particulates, especially useful in urban areas. Many evergreens form a quick-growing hedge that, if well maintained, makes an attractive, tough, long-lasting alternative to wooden fence panels.
