STANDARD TREES
Standard trees are those grown on for several years to a substantial size, usually 2-3.5m tall and trained and pruned to develop a clear lower trunk – and usually a well branched canopy above. In effect, they are an enhanced, clearly tree-like form.
Once planted, standard trees have more immediate impact in a garden or landscape than a feathered tree, and will provide a better idea of the ultimate impact the tree will go on to produce when mature than many younger garden trees for sale.
